French Tourists

On Tuesday, 15th January, two French men called Francois and Jerome with very heavy rucksacks called to our home. They knocked on the door and asked if there was any place for them to stay. They said they would sleep in the shed and would not disturb us. My Dad asked them why they were looking for a place and they explained that they were travelling from France to Norway.
They said they were heading towards Galway. We invited them into the house and we decided to let them stay in the house because it was a cold, wet evening. My Dad offered to bring them to Galway in the morning when he was going to work but they said they would walk.
Later, they had an Irish dinner of bacon and cabbage with some French wine. During dinner they explained about their tour and told us about some of the things that happened along the way and that they will be 10 months travelling. They arrived in Rosslare from Cherbourg and are moving onto Scotland next. They will get the ferry from Larne. They had pretty good English and sometimes they used the Kindle to check word meanings.
After dinner they saw a tin whistle and my violin and asked me if I would play something for them so I played Galway Bay and Galway Girl. They both play music. Francois plays piano and guitar and Jerome plays harmonica but Francois did not have any instruments with him because they are too heavy to carry. They bags already weigh 20kgs.
After dinner they showed us their blog http://lespigeonsvoyageurs.vip-blog.com/vip/categories/79367.html and they checked on google maps. Later they updated their blog.
In the morning they had porridge and their first full Irish breakfast. They really enjoyed it and said they had found Irish people very kind and helpful. We took a photo of them and wished them well.
I hope they have a great time touring Ireland and that they will meet more friendly people and find comfortable places to stay.

Les touristes français

Le mardi 15 Janvier, deux Français du nom de François et Jérôme avec des sacs à dos très lourds arrivent jusqu’à notre maison. Ils ont frappé à la porte et on demandé si il serait possible d’avoir un endroit où dormir. Ils ont dit qu’ils pouvaient dormir dans le garage et ne voulaient pas nous déranger. Mon père leur a demandé pourquoi ils étaient à la recherche d’un endroit et ils nous ont expliqué qu’ils effectuaient un voyage de la France à la Norvège à pied.
Ils n’ont dit qu’ils se dirigeaient vers Galway. Nous les avons invités dans notre maison et avons décidé de les garder à l’intérieur parce que c’était une soirée froide et humide. Mon papa a proposé de les amener à Galway le matin quand il allait travailler, mais ils ont dit qu’il préférait marcher.
Plus tard, ils ont eu un dîner Irlandais, de bacon et de chou avec du vin Français. Pendant le dîner, ils nous ont expliqué leur voyage et nous ont parlé de certaines des péripéties qui se sont produites le long de leur chemin et que leur marche allait durer 10 mois. Ils sont arrivés à Rosslare de Cherbourg et se dirige en Ecosse. Ils prendront le ferry à Larne. Ils avaient un anglais plutôt marrant et parfois ils utilisaient le Kindle pour vérifier la signification des mots.
Après le dîner, ils ont vu ma flûte et mon violon et m’on demandé si je voulais jouer quelque chose pour eux. Je leur ai joué Galway Bay et Galway girl. Ils jouaient tous les deux de la musique. François du piano et de la guitare et Jérôme de l’harmonica, mais François ne pouvais pas avoir tous les instruments avec lui parce qu’ils étaient trop lourds à porter. Leurs sacs pesaient déjà 20kgs.
Après le dîner, ils nous ont montré leur blog http://lespigeonsvoyageurs.vip-blog.com/vip/categories/79367.html. Plus tard dans la soirée, ils l’on mis à jour.
Dans la matinée, ils ont eu du porridge et leur premier Full Irish Breakfast. Ils ont beaucoup apprécié et ont dit qu’ils avaient trouvé les Irlandais très gentils et accueillant. Nous avons pris une photo d’eux et leur avons souhaité bonne chance.
J’espère qu’ils passeront du bon temps en Irlande, qu’ils rencontreront des gens très sympathiques et trouverons des endroits confortables pour dormir.
